This is a wonderful collection of often overlooked Elizabethan and Jacobean urban comedies that shed light on an aspect of 16th century English life that we don't find in Shakespeare. This volume makes the plays very accessible and entertaining, reminding us that the Bard's rivals are just as enjoyable as the man himself.
